What causes poor soil removal?
Poor soil removal may be caused by one or more of the following conditions:
Suds bath is too low, suds time is too short, washing temperature is too low, not enough detergent is being added, washer is overloaded, water levels are too high/low, water is too hard, the wrong formula is being used.
Why aren't stains coming out?
Poor stain removal may be caused by one or more of the following conditions:
Temperatures aren't controlled in preliminary flushing, not enough bleach is being added,
bleach is too weak, bleach pH is incorrect, washing temperature is too low for the detergent to perform
properly, water level in bleach bath is too high, washer is overloaded, bleach time is too short,
improper bleach for stain type is being used, alkalinity is too low, not enough soap/detergent is being used,
sudsing time is insufficient, sudsing temperature is too low, merchandise is being abused in customer locations.
Why does my laundry appear dull?
The dull appearance of laundered textiles, aside from redeposition, may be caused by one or more of the following conditions:
Not enough bleach, weak bleach, short bleaching time, not enough flushes, not enough rinses, short rinses, poor soil removal.
Why does my white laundry appear to be tinted yellow or brown?
Laundry appearing tinted yellow or brown, aside from redeposition, may be caused by one or more of the following conditions:
High levels of iron in the wash water, poor rinsing, undersouring, unneutralized bleach.
Why do my textiles seem to be losing their strength?
Damage to the integrity of the strength of laundered textiles may be caused by one or more of the following conditions:
Bleach isn't being diluted properly, too much bleach is being used, bleach pH is too low, bleach temperature is
higher than 155 degrees F., steam has escaped into the bleach bath, mechanical action is too excessive
(underloading, too lengthy formulas, too much time between filling and draining, low water levels),
high alkaline builders are being used excessively in the presence of steam and high water temperatures
on fabrics containing polyester, wrong souring agents are being used, souring agents are
being used improperly (too much/too little).
What causes linting/pilling?
The linting/pilling of textiles may be caused by one or more of the following conditions:
Excessive mechanical action, textiles contain low-twist yarns, textile fibers are too short,
contact with rough surfaces of machinery, too much bleach is being used,
textiles are exposed to excessive heat in tumblers, the pH of bleach is too low,
bleaching temperature is higher than 155 degrees F., strong alkalis aren't being rinsed
out of polyester in fabrics before finishing, souring agents are being used improperly.
What is causing the foul odor of my laundry?
Foul odor of laundry may be caused by one or more of the following conditions:
Hard water reacting with soap, poorly soured loads have fermented, too much sour is being used,
soil remains in the textiles, rinsing is incomplete, boiler treatment chemicals have contaminated the load,
resin-treated fabrics have retained soil and chemicals. |
